The Voyage

Three explorers set out on October 16th, 2009 on an Avalon Ambassador pontoon for an adventure of spear fishing and lobster diving. The crew of four started their journey in Key West, Florida and took the 27″ pontoon over 350 miles to Dry Tortugas.

The Ambassador was the perfect choice for such an island adventure. This high-performance, luxury pontoon was fitted with the Rough Water Package and the Watersports Package for the trip. Plus a wakeboard tower, a captain stand upgrade, and even a double Bimini top.

The Dry Tortugas sit nearly 70 miles west of Key West, reachable only by boat or seaplane — about as remote as the Gulf of Mexico gets.
